About me ★

Hi! My name is Sarah Adelman and I’m a born and bred New Yorker, stand up comic, and screenwriter (and former scientist).

As a stand-up, I’m a regular at New York Comedy Club, Union Hall, DontTellComedy, and more and tour nationally. I’ve been a selected performer on festivals like New York Comedy Festival and the Riot Comedy Festival, and was a Gold Comedy 2026 Comedian to Watch. I’ve opened for Janeane Garofalo, Judy Gold, and Mohanad Elsheiky, Gianmarco Soresi, and Isabel Hagen, and can be seen on two episodes of HBO’s Game Theory season 2, an LMAOF comedy special, as well as an upcoming pilot for Adam McKay’s Yellow Dot Studios.

My pilot scripts have been an official Just For Laughs 2026 pitching selection, and I was an Ars Nova resident for the 2023-2024 season where I developed and premiered my one-woman show "EGG," Called "a charming coming-of-age stand-up show" by New York Times comedy critic Jason Zinoman. EGG has been on a sold-out national tour.

My short film/proof of concept “BUSTED!” premiered at SeriesFest 2025 and won both the Jury Award for Best Writer and the Audience Award in the Digital Short Series category. My next short film, “Disappearing Act,” is currently in post-production.

I am also the creator, host, and EP of“BLOW MY MIND,” an original series on MadRealities. In each episode, I sit down with a guest as they present me with a mind-blowing science fact. I also regularly teach science communication courses at universities!
